Mega Crazy Busy Sale

Endless rows of goods for all your biking needs. I sold a pile of ERGON grips and about 1/3 of the Planet Bike lights in stock and 1/2 of the super flashes in stock and there was a lot of merchandise in stock.
Got enough grips for everyone and their brother, these are the bins above the table with 2 more like it below. This shop know good grips.

The Demo bike, hard to see with the sun and flash but I had all Planet front and rear lights on it, creating a blinding bike Xmas tree. Got a lot of nice reviews on the bike, hopefully Williamson will bite on becoming a dealer, I guess I will have to wait at least a couple more weeks to find out if that's going to happen. I will be back down at the sale again next weekend so hopefully I can get rid of the remaining product by the end of the sale.

ERGON Demo Product Arives

Just getting ready to head out the door to the mega sale so not a lot of time to post, I got all the Demo Equipment last night and am ready to rock.
Whole line up of grips for people to try.
Love this pack,
Didn't even know it had a rain fly.
Great catalogs, will make it much easier to show folks the whole line up of product.

Thanks ERGON and thanks Jeff for getting me this stuff ASAP.

MEGA SALE

Just came back from Willy Street Bikes and things are already under way. I found all my ERGON and Planet items in the store, got my display bike with grips and lights ready and have all my catalogs and info for folks. Looks like I will have a chance to bend the ear of some of the reps that sell directly to the store. The BD1 is first on my radar for these guys, they're already pushing the grips to bike shops so now its time for them to get on board with the packs. This should be a pretty easy sell after I have them try it on.

Ergon/Planet Rep

Its spring again or at least thats what the calendar says, this of course means its time for Williamson Bikes or Willy Bike's Mega Sale. The sale runs from March 27-April 6th. I will be there this Saturday from 12-5 repping for Ergon and Planet Bike. Willy Bikes is one of the largest retailers of both Ergon products and Planet Bike Accessories so I thought it smart to be there showing some love for my sponsors. I went to Planet yesterday to pick up some goodies some of which is not even available yet.
Pictured in White the Spok Led Micro Light, you can put it anywhere and it rotates. You can see it on my hubs in pictures below. Available later this spring.

The stroke educing Super Flash, the brightest rear tail light on the planet. Cars hate it which means I love it.

A little out of order, but Ergon will get its own space in the next day or 2. This is my demo bar, I can pull the grips off and have people try different grips or they can grab my bike this weekend and test them out for real.
A whole pile of goodies from Planet Bike just waiting to be shown.
The Spok mounted to my rear hub, I wasn't kidding when I said you could mount it anywhere.
For the really muddy stuff I got the Flipper front and rear fenders, people laugh or think its hard core to go without, but I'm to old to care what people think plus keeping mud out of my face and back is a good thing especially for 12 plus hours.
This is the Big Buddie 80 Cu. In seat pack. Now I know its large, but for a 29er tube, levers, co2 and multi-tool its Great. I was reluctant until I had my first flat, everything I needed popped out and I was on my way. They do make one in a 44 Cu. In called the Little Buddie.
The whole show case Planet Protege 5, Blaze 1/2 watt and the little Spok. I gotta shoot a picture of the whole bike, it lights up like a x-mas tree and weighs about 30lbs with all the demo gear on it.

100 Inches

Its official, we broke 100 inches of snow last night and to celebrate I will hit the trails 1 more time then I'm done or at least for this week.

$90 to USA Cycling

Ok does anyone else think that its crazy that you need to have a freakin license to race your bike. I mean cmon this is really crazy if you think about it. Why do you need to have a license to race, most of the races can or are run by promoters who enforce the rules and make the call when there are disputes amongst competitors. Even in Road events the rules are pretty straight forward and promoters can enforce policy without having someone in a blue blazer do it. I know that USA says that they provide structure, rules and development, but I still wind up supporting local chapters of trail improvement or kids cycling development programs because there is NO money coming in from the top. We don't even need USA Cycling for levels or pro status. In Wisconsin we have the largest off road series in the country, the largest. If you don't believe me check out WORS. Each race in the series draws between 800-1400 competitors and for years you self seeded and were bumped up if you were winning your class consistently. In Road events the fear is that to many cat 3s will want to bump up to 2 or 2s to 1 without adequate experience making them a risk to other riders, this is a legitimate fear considering lesser riders can still hang in there, but so what, let them hang in there and if they f-up the pack will make sure they don't come back until they are ready. This is kinda my first rant and rave on blogger, but almost $100 to say I can race is crazy. Revolution NOW.

Spring?

So I referred to spring yesterday as finally being here, well that was the kiss of death. This ain't snow its all snow and we are supposed to get around 12 inches before its all over. Tonight I will be scrapping and waxing instead of putting new tires on the bikes.

Product Rolling In

Its spring again even though we are supposed to get 6in of snow, but its officially spring which means time for the inventory of goods to start rolling in from Q. I think this order of Tyres should get me through the start of the season. Wish I had more time to blog it up, but my life has been revolving or devolving around the remodeling of our bathroom, before and after pics will be following very soon.

H8tr 100

Well it looks like an early start to the race season here in Mad Town, the local talent is putting on another alley cat race to start the season. I need to check my schedule, but I think this might be a great season opener. If you are in the area check out the site.

The race is going to be a great mix of city,bp,gravel, mud, snow, and whatever else they can find to make life more interesting.

New Van Dessel Site Comming

All of us on the Van Dessel Team have been notified that a new better website is in the works. There should be some exciting changes and some additions to the line-up of bikes that are coming in the near future. It looks like those changes will be most apparent in the mountain bike line up so stay tuned.

Ride,Snowshoe,Ride,Ski

So besides finishing the remodeling job on our bathroom this weekend I found time to do 2 days intervals on the trainer, go for a snowshoe and get a great ski in. I figure I better get out and enjoy the last of the white stuff before I put the wheels back to the pavement and dirt.

More Ski Time

Got in another great night of skiing, temps in the middle 20's made for fast conditions, but I was saddened to see that I was the only one left at 7pm at an area where the parking lot is typically overflowing with cars. I guess with March here everyone believe that winter is over the only problem is that no one talked that over with ma nature. Oh well, I got in a great ride today averaging 215 Watts some good strength training for and hour and feeling ready to tear up the ski trails again tonight.
