Itialian Shoes

Ahh yes, its good to have friends, I happened to mention to one of my buddies that I was going to have to suck it up and purchase 2 pair of Sidi shoes at regular price as my wholesaler doesn't carry them. He replied "why, I have a rep that can get them for you." To which I replied, " you F*$@ing Rock!" So it is True that I only run the best as I can get every other shoe on the planet at cost, but none are as nice as the Sidi, so I was willing to put down full boat retail for what I believe are great shoes. I had a chance to slide my tootsies in a pair this summer and its a fact the Italians simply make great shoes. With the Euro being so strong against the dollar I wasn't looking forward to forking out a big wad of cash and worse I wasn't looking forward to a conversation with my wife about buying way more expensive shoes than any pair she owns, but now with his help I don't have to, but I do have to buy him a couple bottles of really nice wine. So to all our friends out there that help us save a little and therefore save a marriage,
THANK YOU!

Color Choices
So its to cold to ski today, a high of 5 makes for a really miserable time, anyway I started dreaming of the season to come and the supplies that I will need so while putting my order together for QBP I began thinking about the end of the Marathon Season and the start of Cross. I am ordering the world famous Gin and Trombones up this summer from Van Dessel, but the hardest question is not how I want it built, but what color to get. I have 2 colors to choose from which should make it a simple decision, but I am torn. The white is classic and very beautiful, however the orange keeps me from getting shot by deer hunters as well as being an attention grabber. The orange is Maxxis orange, which is great for Kabush, but maybe not for Lee. So if anyone out there wants to add their 2 cents worth I am open.

Get out of the Dark
Well I know this should be a blog concerning all things bike related, but in the winter it must take a turn towards skiing. Saturday I got for a nice hour skate ski followed by another hour of classic skiing. Conditions were almost perfect, temps hovering in the mid 20s made for very fast snow especially for classic skiing. With almost 3 months of solid ski time in I feel like the bike season should be a breeze. I know I have said it before, but skiing makes biking feel about as hard as walking. No kidding, I really feel bad for those folks who don't ski or snow shoe or at least get off the bike and do something else. There is nothing better than having spring roll around and feel the deep hunger to get out there and throw down a quick 100 miler just for the fun of it. I have been of the mind set were you feel like you need to spend All your time on the trainer or out riding when you can and I am here to say, forget it, because there is nothing worse than having spring roll around and feel a deep loathing towards your bike because you and it have become to close over the past winter. Now I still spend time on the trainer, just not all my time, so for all of you riding in the dark of your basement hour after mind numbing hour, please come join us while you still can, bring your sunglasses and be welcomed back into the outside.

6.5 Feet of White Goodness
Ben and I at Blue Mounds enjoying some of the best snow we have had in many years, in fact the report is official we have received a total of 75 inches with another round coming this way, thats over 6 feet of snow people. And as if the skiing isn't hard enough I refuse to buy a snow blower so as to increase my overall physical destruction. Did I mention we live on a corner lot so when we get snow like this I get a great workout. Terry, Ben, and my wife Jill. This is a great 10 k flat loop that Ben and I skied the day before, just double polling, (all upper body).
